Neuropsychological testing measure specific psychological functions linked to specific
brain structures. Neuropsychological testing involves a comprehensive investigation
of an individual’s mental capabilities using specialised tests administered by a
specialist psychologist.
- Testing undertaken to evaluate and understand an individual strengths together with
any difficulties that they may have for whatever reason.
- To enable specialist psychologists and therapists to design and carry out specific
interventions to help individuals learn new techniques to manage any difficulties
and to reinforce strengths.
There are many reasons why an individual might require neuropsychological testing;
following a head trauma of any kind, a decline in mental capability (eg; memory
problems) including those that are associated with aging, there are also times when
they are requested by courts.
